 Mockingbird Don't Sing is a 2001 American independent film based on the true story of Genie, a modern-day feral child. The film is told from the point of view of Dr. Susan Curtiss (whose fictitious name is Sandra Tannen), a professor of linguistics at University of California, Los Angeles. Although the film is based on a true story, all of the names are fictitious for legal reasons (e.g. the pseudonym "Genie" has been changed to "Katie"). The film was released to US theaters on May 4, 2001. It won first prize for best screenplay at the Rhode Island International Film Festival (tied with Wings of Hope).
On November 4, 1970 on The CBS Evening News, Walter Cronkite reported on a true, horrific story that was about to rock the country. A 13-year-old girl was discovered in the small Los Angeles suburb of Arcadia who was still in diapers, barely able to walk and unable to speak. Kept in severe isolation by her parents with virtually no human contact for more than 10 years, she was confined to her bedroom, tied to her potty-chair and left to fend for herself. As Cronkite noted, it was one of the most horrendous cases of child abuse ever to surface. Much like an animal, the girl spat, sniffed and clawed. She had none of the traits or characteristics of conventional human behavior, nor could she comprehend such modern societal conveniences as silverware or bathroom etiquette. Her emotional development was practically non-existent, and she could not speak. With this heartbreaking story, the world was being introduced to a fragile, beautiful teenager who seemed and behaved like an infant, or Wild Child.

EN. Red Cherry (simplified Chinese: 红樱桃; traditional Chinese: 紅櫻桃; pinyin: Hóng Yīngtáo) is a 1995 film directed by Ye Ying (also known as Daying Ye). The Director of Photography was Zhang Li, a fifth generation filmmaker and classmate of Chen Kaige. Red Cherry won Best Picture at the 1996 Golden Rooster Awards.

The film was made in China in 1995 under the title Hong ying tao starring Ke-Yu Guo, Vladmill Nizmiroff, Xu Xiaoling. The movie was based on the true story of Chuchu, a 13-year-old Chinese girl, and Luo Xiaoman, a 12-year-old Chinese boy, who were sent to Moscow, Russia in the 1940s and enrolled into an international boarding school. There they had so many great and difficult experiences as they tried to survive during World War II.

The children's real encounter with fate began as kanikuli (summer break) arrived, Chuchu accompanied her class to a children’s camp in Belarus, while Xiaoman remained in Moscow. Then, Russia was invaded by Germany's Operation Barbarossa. Red Cherry is basically an account of the two orphans’ parallel experiences of the war.

The film was China's biggest box office hit in 1995. Internationally, the film was selected in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival in 1996. The film also won Audience Choice award (Best Foreign Language Film) in Palm Springs International Film Festival in 1996. The film was selected as the Chinese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 68th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Historien foregår i år 1850. Den handler om en 9 år gammel pige, ved navn Tinke (Sarah Juel Werner). En beskidt og sulten lille pige. Begge hendes forældre (Karin Rørbech & Morten Nørby) er døde og kun ved et mirakel har hun overlevet i ødemarken. Hun møder en hyrdedreng, Larus (Peter Jeppe Hansen), der giver hende mælk og brød. Han får lidt efter lidt hendes tillid og forstår at hun vil sulte ihjel, hvis ikke han hjælper hende. Larus tager Tinke med tilbage til gården hvor han arbejder. Bonden (Erik Wedersøe) vil sende hende på fattiggården, men hans kone (Lisbeth Dahl) derimod vil beholde Tinke og opdrage hende som den datter, hun aldrig fik. Men Tinke er vild som et dyr og svær at lære gode manerer - for hun har andre planer, en plan hun har haft siden moderens død: På moderens dødsleje, modtager Tinke en værdifuld halskæde fra hende. Moderen fortæller at hun stammer fra en meget rig familie, men at hun flygtede med Tinkes far og sidenhen aldrig så sine forældre igen. Hun fortæller Tinke at hun ved hjælp af halskæden skal finde sine bedsteforældre. Da bonden finder ud af at Tinke kommer fra en rig familie, beslutter han sig for at finde bedsteforældrene, for at få dem til at betale for hende. edsteforældrene bliver fundet og de tager Tinke med hjem, men Tinke har svært ved at bevise at hun er deres barnebarn. Hun har ved et uheld mistet halskæden...

Como se estilaba en los años 70 en España se dobló todo el sonido, lo cual produce una desincronización entre los labios de los actores y la voz.

The film tells the story of Karo, a ten-year-old girl who witnesses the moral dilemmas of free love when her parents join a squatter community in 1970s Amsterdam.

Ten-year-old Karo grows up with her parents in an Amsterdam commune in the Seventies. She leads a carefree existence in this utopia-for-adults. Everything is shared in the squat, but not everyone is able to honor these ideals. Karo gets confused because of the internal conflicts that start to divide the group. Karo slowly realizes that nothing can stay the same forever.

Siden 1904 er der hvert år udgivet et særligt julemærke, som man kan påklistre sine postforsendelser i forbindelse med juleposten. Salget af julemærker er grundlaget for oprettelsen og driften af julemærkehjemmene rundt om i Danmark. Hjemmene har til formål at huse og hjælpe udsatte og særligt trængende børn. Filmen viser forskellige optagelser fra dagligdagen på syv hjem, herunder Hobro, Juelsminde (nedlagt i 1956), Fjordmark ved Flensborg Fjord, Holbølls Minde i Svendborg, Lindersvold, Mørkøv og Kildemose ved Frederiksværk. Børnenes dag består bl.a. af undervisning, lægebesøg, leg og hygge i haven med husdyr, fællesspisning, let mark- og havearbejde, gåture og strandture. Ved juletid boltrer børnene sig i sneen, og til juleaften danser de om juletræet og får gaver af julemanden.

 XXY is a 2007 Argentine-Spanish-French drama film written and directed by Lucía Puenzo. Starring Ricardo Darín, Valeria Bertuccelli, Inés Efron, and Martín Piroyansky, the film tells the story of a 15-year-old intersex person, the way her family copes with her condition and the ultimate decision that she must eventually make as she struggles to define her own gender identity amongst a society that expects certain behaviors.
In a small coastal town of fishermen in Uruguay, the biologist Kraken works and lives in a house at the sea side with his wife Suli and their aggressive fifteen year-old daughter Alex. When Suli welcomes her former best friend Erika that comes with her husband, the surgeon Ramiro and their teenage son Alvaro from Argentina to spend a couple of days with her family, Kraken learns of the real reason for their visit, for Ramiro to operate on Alex. The reason being that Alex was born with both male and female sex organs. During the visit Alex and Alvaro grow closer in attraction to one another and eventually have sexual intercourse which causes even more confusion for the both of them. This film follows this period of time in Alex's life as she deals with constant questions about her gender identification, a pursuit of love and how to cope with her uniqueness.

Over the span of a year, filmmakers Marte (Norway) and Jéro (South Korea) exchange visual letters, documenting their everyday lives.
Marte Vold (37) and Jéro Yun’s (35) collaboration began in 2015 when they were asked to team up for CPH:LAB, the talent development and production programme at the Copenhagen International Film Festival in Denmark. In the course of the following year, Marte and Jero exchanged visual letters, documenting their everyday lives in Oslo (Norway) and Seoul (South Korea), respectively.
LETTERS is the culmination of this exchange — a conversation spanning continents, cultures, gender and lifestyles. Touching on heritage, kinship, and the mundane and subtle poetry of our embodied lives, LETTERS is a meditation on the connections that bind, unite and release us.

Welcome, or No Trespassing (Russian: Добро пожаловать, или Посторонним вход воспрещён, translit. Dobro pozhalovat, ili Postoronnim vkhod vospreshchyon) is a Soviet movie by Elem Klimov made in 1964. It is a satirical comedy about the excessive restrictions that children face during their vacation in a Young Pioneer camp, imposed by their masters. Most of the actors are children, while the protagonist is the director Dynin, played by Yevgeniy Yevstigneyev. The film was selected to be screened in the Cannes Classics section of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
In a Soviet Young Pioneer camp, Dynin, the administrator is afraid that the children may succumb to harmful accidents and that he will be deemed responsible. He believes that accidents happen when formal rules are violated. Hence, he believes, everything must be done strictly according to formal instructions and regulations. One boy, Kostya Inochkin, (Viktor Kosykh) breaks one of the cardinal rules by swimming out alone to an island instead of swimming in the specially designated swimming area, supervised by staff. As a result, Inochkin is expelled from camp and is sent home. Inochkin is afraid that if his grandmother, with whom he lives, discovers that he has been expelled, she will die from sorrow, so instead of going home he returns to camp illegally. He hides but is discovered by some of the other children, who start helping him to stay, outsmarting the adults. Adults are added to the plot later and also oppose Dynin's strict regime. Finally Dynin is removed from office and expelled to the town. The film's final scenes show the joy of freedom without Dynin's restrictions, kids and adults swim and even unrealistically jump over the river (although this is presumably a fantasy). The film also makes jokes about a quip popular in Nikita Khrushchev's time - "corn - queen of fields".

Hand in Hand is a 1961 British drama film about the friendship between two young children, one a Roman Catholic boy about nine, the other a 7-year-old Jewish girl.
Filmed in the summer of 1960 under the title "The Star and the Cross", Hand in Hand. Although ABPC's distribution arm in the United Kingdom, Warner-Pathe Film Distributors, screened the film for the British press in late 1960, it remained unreleased in the UK until 1963, when it finally went out nationally on the ABC cinema circuit as the supporting feature for the Tony Hancock comedy The Punch and Judy Man. It was shown to American children and adults when released on the CBS Children's Film Festival 1967 season hosted by Kukla, Fran and Ollie.
In the town of Springfield, England, adolescents Michael O'Malley and Rachel Mathias strike up a friendship despite their less than friendly first meeting at school. That friendship becomes so strong that they spend whatever time they can together, Mike even forgoing playing his regular games with his old friends just so that Rachel won't feel left out. Their friendship is primarily based on reaching for somewhat collective dreams, those that seem to be at the top of the list being going to London to have tea with the Queen, and going big game hunting in Africa. They feel they are stronger as a pair than they are as individuals. Their respective parents support the friendship, which they may not have if it was ten years later and the friendship was a romantic one, their parents who would like their respective offspring to marry within their own religion, Mike's family who is Catholic, Rachel's being Jewish. The first test to their friendship is the possibility of Rachel's family moving away to Marlow, thirty miles away. The second and arguably bigger test is when a classmate points out a fundamental difference between their two religions. By this time, Mike and Rachel have become what they consider blood brothers who cannot be separated. But they have to test whether their blood tie is stronger than their individual ties to their respective religion, the outcome of the test which may have unintended tragic consequences.

Teuvo Tuliolta vaikutteita ottaneiden melodraamojen ja sotilasfarssien jälkeen Roland af Hällström ohjasi neljä merkittävää klassikkokirjallisuuden filmatisointia, joita voi pitää ohjaaja-käsikirjoittajan päätöinä. Ensimmäisenä valmistui Joel Lehtosen Putkinotkon (1920) elokuvasovitus, jota seurasi Putkinotkoa monessa muistuttanut Ilmari Kianto -filmatisointi Ryysyrannan Jooseppi (1955), F. E. Sillanpään samannimisen kuuluisimman teoksen filmatisointi Poika eli kesäänsä (1955) ja vielä Minna Canth -sovitus Lain mukaan (1956). Näistä Putkinotko ja Ryysyrannan Jooseppi nousevat omaan luokkaansa.
Viime vuosisadan alussa lähellä Savonlinnaa asuvan Käkriäisen perheen elämästä yhden päivän ajalta kertova Putkinotko on tarina rähjäisistä, köyhistä ja sivistymättömistä metsäläisistä. Juutas (Matti Lehtelä), perheen pää, on ulkonäöltään koko perheestä kaikkein räjähtänein, niin likaisen näköinen, että melkein hänet voi haistaakin. Valtaosan vuodesta Juutas on saamaton vätys, joka kyllä rakastaa vaimoaan (Elvi Saarnio) ja eritoten monia lapsiaan, mutta viihtyy parhaiten yksin ja omilla reissuillaan.
Käkriäisen perheen elanto tulee viinan trokaamisesta, mutta rähjäisen mökkinsä he ovat saaneet vuokralle siitä hyvästä, että huolehtivat tilasta ja samassa pihapiirissä sijaitsevasta päärakennuksesta, jonne äveriäs kaupunkilaismies Muttinen (Pentti Viljanen) aina silloin tällöin saapuu kesää viettämään – tänään vieläpä fiinin naisystävänsä (Hillevi Rautio) kanssa. Juutas ei ole pestistä erityisen innoissaan, koska pelkää häätöä eikä muutenkaan tunnu olevan halukas tekemään työtä toisen hyväksi.
Putkinotkon päivä on toimintaa täynnä. Muttisen visiittiä ennen vaimo ja lapset ehtivät käydä kaupungissa ja Juutas jauho-ostoksilla, myöhemmin illalla käydään saunomassa ja vielä sen jälkeen laskemassa verkkoja. Pelkästään Juutaksen jauhokaupoista on saatu hyvin yksinkertaisella tavalla tehtyä loistavaa viihdettä, eikä vaimon asiointi apteekissa ole yhtään sen tylsempää katseltavaa. Kaupungissa käydessään vaimo yrittää yhdessä veljensä (Ari Laine) kanssa miettiä, miten Juutaksen saisi suostumaan pontikankeittoon.

My Life as a Dog (Swedish: Mitt liv som hund) is a Swedish drama film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 12 December 1985, directed by Lasse Hallström. It is based on the second novel of a semi-autobiographical trilogy by Reidar Jönsson. It tells the story of Ingemar, a young boy sent to live with relatives.
Ingemar lives with his brother and his terminally ill mother. He may have a rough time, but not as bad as Laika - the russian dog sent into space... He gets sent away to stay with relations for the summer. While there, he meets various strange characters, giving him experiences that will affect him for the rest of his life.

Lille Bertram har denne gang helliget sig malerkunsten. Onkel Georges besøg falder uheldigvis sammen med tante Gydas besøg hos den Bertramske familie. Helt galt går det, da Onkel George tager børnene med på Glyptoteket, hvor far er kustode. Bertram har nemlig taget sit maleri "Bertram og De fem Løver" med. Under et tyveri på Glyptoteket, bliver billedet forbyttet med et kostbart maleri. Søsteren Winni bliver taget som gidsel, og så går den vilde jagt. Først på Bellahøj Camping, dernæst en hæsblæsende sejltur - med Bertram bag rattet! Jagten slutter i Tivoli, hvor hele familien skal bytte maleriet for Winni.
